Oculus
This mountain refuge is conceived as a transition between the vast alpine landscape and a protected interior. Visitors enter through a circular opening and pass through a filtered threshold, where a perforated mesh frames distant views before guiding them into a warm timber clad living space focused on an oculus that frames the sky and marks the passage of time.
Organized around a central social space, the refuge accommodates up to eight people, with sleeping areas along the perimeter. Integrated water storage, renewable energy systems, and technical infrastructure ensure self sufficiency, while the architecture emphasizes shelter, contemplation, and connection to the surrounding environment.
